A Next Stage Series Show
In the wake of the suicide of her friend and fellow theatre artist Jordan Mechano, performer and playwright Laura Anne Harris (Destiny, USA; Pitch Blonde) discovered more than 700 pages of his writing. Have Fun Kids is the result — a raw, tender, and quietly radical solo show that blends Jordan’s text with Laura’s own stories of grief.
Each performance is unique and unrepeatable, with content chosen by the audience before the show begins. Have Fun Kids offers a gentle and deeply human space to talk about what we often avoid: death, love, and what we leave behind.

More about the show experience
This show is part of the Next Stage Series, a curated selection of shows brought to you by experienced Fringe producers.
This series enables production elevation and creative risk-taking by four talented companies who are all poised and ready for their next stage. They capture a moment in Canadian theatre that iterates the profound feelings that great plays can stir and leave long lingering impressions upon us. They are full of vitality and force that we are honoured to present at the Toronto Fringe Festival this summer.
Latecomers will only be admitted into the theatre within the first 15 minutes of the performance. Re-entry will be permitted.

Sensory description
It might feel like a presentation more than a theatre space. There will be a projection on the floor showing images on an 'old fashioned' project screen. Plain wooden boxes will be opened to reveal small objects.
