Fringe Festival Next Stage Festival Outreach Volunteer Support About

Volunteer at the Festival

The Toronto Fringe would not be able to operate without the support of its 500+ volunteers every summer and winter. Volunteers fill over 900 shifts needed to get the festivals up and running. Their enthusiasm and dedication are two of the ingredients that make the Fringe Festival & Next Stage Festival an enjoyable and friendly experience for patrons, performers and staff.

If you are interested in helping us put on a festival we have a variety of volunteer activities to choose from:

• Assisting venue House Managers with ticket sales and ushering.
• Assisting our box office staff with “will call” tickets and line ups at the box office.
• Providing assistance to our patrons and volunteers at a variety of different venues and locations across the city.

Our volunteers never work alone and always have a trained House Manger or staff member nearby to answer any questions or concerns that may arise during a volunteer shift. We ask that volunteers sign up for a minimum of three shifts.

Fringe volunteers provide a valuable service to the festival and as a way of saying thank you the Fringe offers its volunteers:

• For every shift worked, a stamp to see a Festival show
• Very often you can see a show for free if you are on a shift and working Front of House
• Access to our Volunteer Appreciation Party

• A cool T-shirt at the summer Fringe Festival

Joining the Fringe volunteer team is also an excellent opportunity to support and be a valuable part of one of the most exciting theatre events of the year. It's also excellent volunteer experience that makes a great addition to any resume.

For more information about the various volunteer opportunities at the Fringe please don't hesitate to contact us at volunteer@fringetoronto.com or call (416) 966-1062.

If your schedule does not allow you to join our volunteer corps but you would still like to support the festival, please consider becoming a “Friend of the Fringe" by making a charitable donation.
